For students studying at the University of Exeter Cornwall Campus, there are a range of internship opportunities available:
The Student Business Partnerships (SBP) scheme offers University of Exeter students from all disciplines the chance to gain paid work experience within a number of well respected businesses. No student can afford to miss out on the valuable opportunity to get the relevant experience. Click here to find out more.
The SBP internships can be available throughout the year, however most internships for the summer period are usually advertised from Easter onwards.
The University works with a wide range of external employers from large organisations, such as councils, the NHS and utility companies, through to small and medium sized companies. The internships we have each year vary depending on the need of your organisation but usually cover a wide selection of topics, such as:
Marketing, IT, Web Development, PR, Technical or Environmental Issues, Engineering, Market Research, Business Planning, Accounts, and Sales.
Successfully placed students attend an Internship Preparation Day and a final Celebratory Day at the end of their internship. You will also have access to tailored online training material throughout your internship.
Businesses, would you like up to 12 weeks dedicated to solving just one of the challenges you face in developing your business? Our Student Business Partnerships have helped hundreds of companies to do just that.
Students would mainly be available for internships during the Easter, summer and Christmas vacation periods, however some students, particularly post-graduates, may be available for part time roles throughout the year.
Following a discussion and agreement on the details of your project, we will advertise your SBP to attract undergraduates from any university that meets your job description and person specification. To apply, students must complete and return an application form, along with a covering letter. Unlocking Cornish Potential (UCP) can help you in the selection process by going through the applications and removing any from candidates that do not meet the basic selection criteria. This leaves you to select the most suitable candidates for interview.
Successfully placed students attend an Internship Preparation Day and a final Celebratory Day at the end of their internship and will also have access to tailored online training material throughout their internship. The University will support both your organisation and the successful candidate throughout to ensure both parties get the best out of their SBP experience.
We are occasionally able to offer government funding to subsidise salary costs and other expenses. For more information on funding schemes and eligibility criteria please contact:
